Information we collect

When you use the quote form or contact form we collect the information you provide directly, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, pickup and destination addresses, move date, property details, inventory notes and any message you send us.

We also automatically process your IP address. This is used to apply basic rate limiting against spam submissions and to suggest a default country code on the telephone field. It is not used to identify you personally.

How we use your information

Your information is used to respond to your enquiry, prepare a moving quotation, and communicate with you by phone, email or WhatsApp about your move.

We do not sell your personal information, and we only use it for the purpose it was submitted for.

Third-party services

The address fields on the quote form use Google Maps Platform (Places Autocomplete) to suggest addresses as you type. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Forms on this site are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which analyses interactions to help distinguish humans from automated submissions and is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of service.

An IP geolocation lookup is used only to preselect a likely dial code on the telephone field; this request is made directly from your browser to the geolocation provider.

Cookies

This site does not set first-party tracking cookies of its own. Google Maps and Google reCAPTCHA may set their own cookies when those features load, as described in our Cookie Policy.

Data retention

Enquiry details are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request and, where a move goes ahead, to provide the service and meet our accounting and legal obligations, after which they are deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal information we hold about you, and you can object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a concern, contact us at contact@cheapmover.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
